This Oil Can Help You Lose Weight

Most oils and fats are no no's on a typical diet, or at least very restricted.  We all do know, of course, that Omega 3's are important, but these aren't the types of oils we think of when cooking.

Most people believe they are doing a good job of taking care of their health by using olive oil religiously.  Olive oil is great as a salad dressing, but degrades when cooked.  Olive oil cannot withstand high heat, and oxidizes when the temp is turned up.  Oxidized oil becomes free radicals in the body, and as you know, free radicals can equal disease.  Olive oil, as with most other oils, also becomes rancid on the store shelves.  In addition, some interesting things have come to light about olive oil - it's not necessarily 100% olive oil.  Imported oils are many times mixed with a variety of low grade oils, including canola or rapeseed oil.  See this article for more information.

Beautiful Beneficial Basil!

I grow basil in my hydroponics system, and use it just about every day in salads. I love the sweet aroma, taste and added kick it gives to salads.

Basil is far more than just a tasty herb for Italian sauces, salads and pesto. It contains a ton of phytonutrients that are necessary for balance within the body.

Try to use fresh basil instead of dried. Either grow it outdoors in its own pot (so that you can bring it in when the weather gets cold) or grow it in your garden during the spring and summer. Down in Florida here, it thrives year long. I have to cut it back occasionally as it can grow quite large. I dry it in my dehydrator when I do cut it back, and although I prefer using fresh basil, there is always dried on hand.

Basil is a storehouse of minerals, including potassium, magnesium, manganese, iron and copper:

Potassium is necessary for cellular respiration, and important in regulating blood pressure. Each cell in the body has a potassium-sodium pump, and works on an intricate balance of these two minerals.

Magnesium is a mineral which is lacking in most of our diets. It's estimated that up to 80% of Americans are deficient in magnesium. Restless leg syndrome abounds here in the U.S., and is easily alleviated with a proper dose of magnesium. I find that when I exercise I have to increase my magnesium intake. You can also find essential oils in basil, such as citranellol, linalool, eugenol, citral, limonene and terpineol, which are anti-inflammatories, cancer preventatives and anti-bacterial.

Beautiful Beneficial Basil Pesto Recipe:

Ingredients

2 cups packed fresh basil leaves
1 or 2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup pine nuts
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
Sea salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Directions:

Combine the the first three ingredients in a food processor and pulse until coarsely blended. Add in Parmesan cheese. Slowly add the oil and process until fully incorporated and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.

Do EMF Protection Pendants Work?

I have been wearing EMF (electromagnetic frequency) protection pendants for about 8 years now.  I do it because I am on my cellphone quite a bit, and I want as much protection as possible.

What I have found is that when I am doing testing using my EMS (electromagnetic system) device, I find that I have to remove my pendant in order to test properly.

One section of my test evaluates for electrical fields, geopathic stress, outside frequencies, and bipolar (television, radio signals) interference.

If I am wearing an EMF pendant, those 4 items are consistently 0 on a scale of 0 to 1000 - AND that is simply when I am testing the saliva sample of a client.  When I take the pendant off and move it several feet across the room, the fields will be anywhere from 0 to 1000 depending on the client's personal situation at that moment.

I decided to take it further and test it live on people, and the results are the same.  They will show electromagnetic and other frequency interference without a pendant.  As soon as they put the pendant on, all the fields come down to 0.

I have not tested these devices with an EMF meter.  The important function of the pendant is that it reduces the chaos in the energy field of the person, and this is what my tests are showing.

The pendants that I wear are proprietarily charged by Perfect Waters.   When I am testing, the pendant is about 2 feet from the saliva sample.  The field of protection is around 3 feet.

Nothing to Be Bitter About – Lemons, the Superfood!

Grandma was so smart in making homemade lemonade. She knew that this bitter little fruit was packed full of nutrition. 

First and foremost, one of the greatest benefits of lemons is that they are alkaline forming within the body. Lemons are acidic going in but through the process of digestion, they are one of the most potent foods to balance the body's pH.

Lemons are anionic – they contain a negative ion charge, very beneficial to health as negative ions help create dispersion and flow in the body, helping to unclump red blood cells.

Lemons are a rich source of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is an antioxidant, which targets free radicals in the body; it is also important in preventing colds, flu and scurvy. Humans don't manufacture Vitamin C within the body, and must find outside sources for it. The lemon peel is exceptionally high in Vitamin C and it is recommended to zest lemon peel on your meals – it will make the taste pop. Remember, antioxidant means anti-aging!

Lemons are antibacterial. Use lemon juice mixed with water on your skin. It will help prevent acne and act as a toner. It will also help brighten the skin, and lighten age spots. You should get about a quart of juice out of this. It will be very potent and somewhat bitter (because you will get some of the white pith), and a little chunky; I add about 1 ounce to a 15 ounce glass, mixed with sparkling water. Add stevia to taste.

You can make your Lemon/Lime Cocktail even more exciting with strawberry, blueberry or pomegranate juice!  Or add a bit of ginger.  Be creative!

Of course, I always add Perfect Science Ayterion Agua to my drinks!

Don't throw away the pulp from your juicer! Separate out the larger pieces and take the remainder, dehydrate it, grind it up in your food processor, bag it and refrigerate it. Use this in salads, on top of veggies, meats, etc. This will be your own little stash of Vitamin C to pump up your meals!

The Many Benefits of Beets

As I mentioned in my previous post, we started growing beets in our garden.  I have beets growing both hydroponically and in a regular garden plot.

Beets are amazing!  They are low calorie, and contain little or no fat.  They are naturally sweet, so they can satisfy your cravings while keeping you slim and trim!  They do contain carbohydrates, so they are source of energy for the body, but also contain fiber, important for the intestinal tract.

The beet has a long history of cultivation stretching back to the second millennium BC. The plant was probably domesticated somewhere along the Mediterranean, whence it was later spread to Babylonia by the 8th century BC and as far east as China by 850 AD. Available evidence, such as that provided by Aristotle and Theophrastus, suggests the leafy varieties of the beet were grown primarily for most of its history, though these lost much of their popularity much later following the introduction of spinach. The ancient Romans considered beets an important health food and an aphrodisiac.

The beet became highly commercially important in 19th century Europe following the development of the sugar beet in Germany and the discovery that sucrose could be extracted from them, providing an alternative to tropical sugar cane. It remains a widely cultivated commercial crop for producing table sugar.

Beets contain many important nutrients, including calcium, manganese, copper, magnesium, phosphorous, folic acid, iron, niacin, Vitamins B-5, B-6 and C - a powerful antioxidant (the leaves contain more Vitamin C than the roots).

Beets are great for cardiovascular health, as they contain glycine betaine, which lowers homocysteine levels within the blood - this promotes platelet clotting and lowers plaque formation in the blood vessels.   The potassium found in beets will lower heart rate, and counteracts too much sodium in the blood.  The cells of the body work on an intricate balance of sodium, potassium and water.  An imbalance in any of these can cause cellular death.

Don't throw the greens out, as they contain flavonoids, Vitamin A and carotenoids, more so than the root of the plant.  Flavonoids are cancer fighters.  Vitamin A is essential for good vision, and maintaining mucus membranes, also great for your skin.  Carotenoids have many physiological functions; most importantly, they are free radical scavengers. 

The folic acid in beets contributes to DNA synthesis within the cells.

The powerful nutrients in beets cleanse the colon, the gallbladder and the liver.   Studies have shown that beets are powerful anti-cancer vegetables, particularly for colon and lung cancer.

Remember, antioxidant means anti-aging; eating beets daily can halt or even reverse the aging process!

How do you eat beets?

Many people enjoy the benefits of raw beets through juicing.   You can juice the whole beet, root and leaves, thereby obtaining the full benefit of the plant.   Juice about a quart of beets, then add apple juice or carrot juice or other ingredients.  Beet juice is powerful - it will begin detoxing you immediately; add only a couple of ounces to your glass. 

Beets can be cooked in a soup (borscht), baked, steamed or even pickled (substitute Stevia for sugar for the healthiest version of pickled beets)!

The Joy of Growing Your Own Food

Starting last fall, we installed a hydroponics garden (just outside my office window) and I've garnered no greater joy than looking out at the plants growing, blossoming and producing fruits and vegetables.

The great thing about hydroponics is that you can grow up, instead of out, and take up far less space than if you plotted out a garden on the ground.   Hydroponic gardens use far less water, are easier on the back for harvesting, require almost no weeding, and sustain far less damage from hungry critters than your typical 12' x 12' garden plot on the ground.

We purchased our hydroponic system from Hydro Harvest Farms in Ruskin, Florida (www.hydroharvestfarms.com).  Our initial system contained four towers, plus a 4 basket hanging tomato/pepper basket tree, which we built ourselves.   Each tower contains four styrofoam pots that sit crosswise to the one above it.  At the bottom of each tower is a rectangular styro box that allows you to install larger plants - we put in cucumbers, beets, eggplant and beans in these bottom boxes.

To this, you add a rain barrel with a pump, and an outlet valve (for hand watering or cleaning); this is connected with a hose across the top of the towers, and each tower is fed by a small drip hose.   The top box is drip watered directly, and through gravity, the lower boxes receive enough water to nurture the plants.  The entire system is controlled on a timer, and ours is set for 3 minutes, 3 times a day.   You must test your system to see what the optimum watering time is.   There is little waste through using a hydroponics setup such as this.

This system provided us with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs and more through the fall and winter.  We just recently cleared out some of the plants as they had overgrown the system, and replanted seed in each slot of the tower boxes. 

It is amazing how much food these systems can produce.  We had salads at least four times a week, and probably could have harvested salad fixings for 7 nights a week (for 4 people!).   Nutrients are added to the rain barrel.  Initially, we were doing some testing on certain plants with our new agricultural formula called Blossom Perfect  which incorporates Perfect Science formulas, and increases yields tremendously.   We did find that simply through foliar spray, the treated plants had far more leaf, blossoms and fruit/vegetables than the non-treated plants.   Once we saw that production was winding down after the winter, we decided to add Blossom Perfect to the nutrient base in the water supply.   Completely new life took over within days - we saw new leaf growth immediately.  The tomato plants which were winding down started producing tomatoes again.  It was pretty amazing!

With spring, we added a 10' X 10' plot, which is partially watered through the hydroponics system.  Why?  Because we wanted to be able to have room for plants that spread, such as squash - we have several varieties of squash in the garden.   Not necessary, as you could probably still use hydroponics for these plants, but we wanted to see how it would work.  I also added beets, onions and carrots.  We did have carrots and beets in a lower tower box and they did fine, but I wanted to see how they would do in a regular garden.  Also, this spring we added two more towers, one for additional herbs, and one that has greens, including mustard, kale and swiss chard.  The great thing about our setup is that we just had to add individual small drip hoses to feed the new towers.

You don't have to buy a prebuilt hydroponics unit; you can find directions and schematics online and build your own from recycled material.   If you are handy, you will probably find greater joy in building your own.

The point is to just do it.   Many of our fruits and vegetables from the store are radiated, come from genetically modified seed, and are treated with all kinds of pesticides and herbicides. By growing your own food, you control what goes into your diet.  Buy organic heirloom seeds that have not been genetically modified.  Choose to use natural methods to reduce pests and treat for plant disease.  The internet has a wealth of educational material for us.

If you have children, there is no greater way to teach them about where their food comes from.  Get them involved by giving them slots or a tower to work themselves.  They'll be so excited to see their little plants growing, and finally, producing food for their family.  They will learn about nature, how plants are pollinated, the gift of bees, butterflies and hummingbirds, and learn to care about the plant kingdom.

I personally choose to have only the freshest food of the highest quality and frequency.  I raise the frequency of my food through using Perfect Science formulas. Perfect Science formulas have some of the highest frequencies on the planet.  These formulas also neutralize/transform toxins in whatever they come in contact with.   So those pesky chemtrails have no effect on my food.   If I happen to buy store bought fruit or veggies, they get washed with our Veggie Wash which is made with Perfect Science.

We have a dehydrator; we also can our food.  I've learned to appreciate how important our food is, and little goes to waste in our house.   What can't be used immediately is either dried, canned or frozen.

Mysteries of the Pineal Gland

Scientists have been mystified by the pineal gland for centuries. As the brain and central nervous and endocrine systems were progressively unravelled by the anatomists, physiologists and biochemists, the pineal gland resolutely refused to yield up its secrets. Until recently the scientific community regarded it as having no function in man, being but a vestigial remnant from an earlier stage in evolution. However, in the last few years interest in the gland has reached a climax when no fewer than ten national and international conferences devoted entirely to unravelling the secrets of the mysterious pineal have been held around the world.

 

Location and description

Physically, the pineal is perhaps the smallest organ of the body. Such a minute structure has rarely, if ever, caused so much curiosity and commotion. It is a tiny grey white structure approximately ¼ inch long, weighing about 100 milligrams, and shaped like a pine-cone. It is located directly at the top of the spinal cord within the brain at the level where the head and neck are joined. It lies attached to the roof of the third ventricle (fluid filled canal) of the brain directly in line with the point between the eyebrows. It is the only structure in the brain, apart from the pituitary gland, which is not bilaterally symmetrical, lying right in the midline. This means that, except for these two glands, the two halves of the brain when it has been cut from front to back, are mirror images of each other, with each structure being duplicated, one for each half.

History

It is interesting to trace the scientific history of the pineal gland to the present day. The ancients attached great significance to this tiny structure. The Greek anatomist Herophilis, in the 4th century B.C. called the gland ‘a sphincter which regulates the flow of thought’. This suggests that he was well aware that the pineal functions as a transducer between the mental and physical realms. The early Latin anatomists termed the pineal ‘the master gland’ indicating that they knew the pineal exerts a higher control over the endocrine system, including the pituitary gland. Up until very recently, modern endocrinologists have considered the pituitary to be the highest controlling gland of all the other endocrine glands of the body. The Latins termed the pineal the ‘glandula superior’ in distinction to the pituitary which they termed ‘glandula inferior’. They clearly designated the pineal to be a ‘gland’, even though it was not until 1958 that modern researchers isolated melatonin from the pineal to prove conclusively that it was a glandular structure.

In 1886 two micro anatomists, H.W. De Graff and E. Baldwin Spencer, independently discovered that the pineal is a rudimentary eye, possessing all the essential features of the external eyes with pigmented, retinal cells surrounding an inner chamber filled with a globular lens like mass.

Subsequent research has proved that the gland actually responds to environmental light, both directly and via the nervous pathways from the external eyes. *1 It is surely beyond a coincidence that the yogic texts of India and the mystical traditions throughout the ages have spoken of the ‘eye of intuition’ and the ‘third eye’ when referring to the pineal gland.

In recent years, two hormones, melatonin and serotonin, have been isolated from the pineal. The hormone melatonin (Greek for darkness, constricting) was isolated from the pineal gland in 1958 by Aaron B. Learner, an American dermatologist working at Yale Medical School (USA). This substance has been found to be responsible for the ability of certain frogs and fish to change colour in response to varying environmental light conditions and also to changes in emotional states such as anger and fear. It has subsequently been found to play a profound role in the onset of puberty and ongoing sexual development in human beings. It is found that the size and functional capacity of the pineal gland diminishes as children enter the pubertal years. The gland appears to hold back the onset of sexual development, and the release of this control by the pineal is the stimulus for the release of the pituitary’s sexual hormones which bring about the awakening of the reproductive systems in the male and female, and precipitate the adoption of a sexual role in life.

The second hormone isolated from the pineal was serotonin. Daniel Freeman, a psychiatrist, also at Yale University, isolated this substance from the tissues of the brain, finding its greatest concentration in the pineal gland and the nearby raphe cells of the nuclei of the midbrain. The pineal appears to be the reservoir of serotonin for the brain, while the raphe cells are responsible for the distribution of the hormone to other areas of the brain via long extensions or axons. These axons reach out to many areas of the brain and control the firing of other cells in those areas.

The next contribution to the pineal puzzle came when two workers at the National Institute of Health (USA), Axelrod and Weissbach, found that serotonin is the precursor of melatonin. They found that melatonin is produced from serotonin in the pineal gland by a simple chemical pathway. *2

The central role of serotonin was established a short time after the accidental discovery of lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD-25). Minute quantities of this substance, were found to cause profound alterations in consciousness, inducing states ranging from deeply felt religious and mystical experiences to paranoia and schizophrenia. The LSD-25 molecule was found to be structurally very similar to the serotonin molecule, so much so that it is able to antagonise or block the actions of serotonin in the brain by occupying the receptor sites where serotonin normally acts. Gaddum of Edinburgh University discovered that the alterations in consciousness induced by LSD-25 are not due to a direct effect on the brain tissues by that drug, but rather that LSD-25 deprives the brain of serotonin by blocking off its sites of action.

This means that the brain’s levels of serotonin are responsible for maintenance of rational thought and that alteration in the concentration of serotonin in the brain, such as induced by LSD-25, are responsible for the unhinging of ‘normal reality’.

This means that the brain’s levels of serotonin profound for they show that the pineal gland is the physical medium which regulates the chemistry of altered states of consciousness. It also seems that our sexual identity and our state of consciousness are intimately related to one another. It is clear that man is imprisoned in his mundane, everyday state of consciousness. He is locked up far more effectively than the prisoner who is incarcerated in chains or behind bars. Such a prisoner is only experiencing the imprisonment of his body, and he is very aware of his condition. However, the human being is far more effectively bound and tied. His very consciousness is held prisoner. It is so effectively harnessed that he cannot even perceive the possibility of higher awareness and experience.

The ropes which prevent his perception of a reality in which he is infinite seem to be the levels of serotonin within his own brain tissues!

What is Healthy Water?

There is so much discussion about different types of water, it's mind boggling.  Like anything else, your body wants water that is free of toxicity, yet full of natural minerals.

We always recommend drinking spring water, or natural mineral water, as opposed to drinking distilled or reverse osmosis water.  There is a place for these - if you are detoxing heavy metals, for example, you would want to drink distilled (or even reverse osmosis) water as the water will naturally attract the heavy metals, and help flush them out of the body.   I would only do this, though, once or twice a day, and then drink good quality spring water the rest of the day.

Why don't we recommend distilled water?  Because water wants to bind with minerals, and drinking this water, even though it is very clean, will leach minerals out of your body.   Minerals are essential to the body for many reasons.   We can't function without certain minerals in the body.
